Privacy Policy
운전 상식 가이드 (Korean Driving Guide) has no accounts and collects nothing that identifies you. It does collect anonymous usage analytics so we can improve the app, and you can switch that off inside the app at any time. To verify in-app purchases, the app also sends a randomly generated app user identifier and your purchase history to a purchase-verification service. This policy sets out what we collect, what we do not, and what the app stores on your device.
01Data we do not collect
In connection with the app, we do not collect:
- Any identifying information — name, email, phone number, date of birth
- Account data — the app has no sign-up or sign-in feature at all
- Location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone — the app requests none of these permissions
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA / AAID) or any behavioral data — no advertising SDK is included
- Crash logs — no crash-reporting SDK is included
- Card numbers or other payment details — payment is handled by the app store (App Store · Google Play)
- Screen or touch recordings — session replay is not enabled
All content (cards, diagrams, simulations) ships with the app and is stored on the device at install time. Reading, searching and running the simulations all work with no internet connection (only in-app purchase and restore need one), and we operate no server that holds your learning history.
02Anonymous usage analytics
① Purpose. To learn which cards are actually read, and above all what people searched for when no card answered it, so we can fill the gaps. We do not use these statistics for advertising or marketing.
② What is collected. These events are the whole of it.
| Event | Sent with it |
|---|---|
| Card opened | Card identifier, topic category |
| Card marked as checked | Card identifier |
| Search | Search term, number of results |
| Simulation opened | Card identifier, simulation type |
| Footer link tapped | Which link |
| Purchase panel viewed | Card identifier (which locked card showed the purchase panel) |
| Purchase completed | Card identifier (no amount, receipt or app store account information) |
| App opened / installed / updated | App version, operating system |
③ You are not identified. No account, device identifier or advertising identifier is sent. The only identifier attached is a random value the app generates on your device. It is not linked to your real identity and disappears when you delete the app.
④ Search term safeguards. The search box is free text, so the app inspects each term before sending. A term containing six or more consecutive digits (a phone or plate number, for instance) or an "@" is discarded entirely rather than partially redacted. Terms longer than 40 characters are truncated to 40.
⑤ Your IP address is not stored. As with any internet request the analytics server receives it, but we have enabled "discard client IP data" on the project, so the IP is not stored alongside the events. IP-based geolocation lookup is disabled as well.
⑥ Retention. We keep the statistics for as long as they serve the purpose of improving the content, and destroy them in full by deleting the analytics project when the service ends. Because the data identifies no one, it is not subject to individual deletion requests; instead you can stop the collection itself at any time, as described in ⑦.
⑦ How to opt out. Tap "익명 사용 통계 · 끄기" at the very bottom of the app's home screen and collection stops immediately. No account or request form is involved, and every feature keeps working afterwards.
03In-app purchase verification
① Purpose. To confirm that the in-app purchase "전체 카드 열기" (Unlock All Cards) is valid, unlock the cards, and restore the purchase after you reinstall the app or change devices. Payment itself is handled by Apple (App Store) and Google (Google Play); neither we nor our processor receive card numbers or any other payment details.
② What is processed.
| Item | What it is |
|---|---|
| App user identifier | A random value generated on your device by the purchase-verification tool (RevenueCat). It is not linked to any account, sign-in or real name, and is separate from the analytics identifier in section 02 |
| Purchase history | Product identifier, purchase date and time, and the purchase receipt issued by the app store |
| Basic device and app information | Operating system and version, app version, app store country |
③ When it is sent. When the app starts, to check whether you have purchased, and when you buy or restore. Even if you have never purchased, the app user identifier and basic device and app information are sent at launch to check your purchase status (there is no purchase history in that case). Nothing is sent without an internet connection; the app then uses the last purchase status stored on the device.
④ Retention. Because purchases must remain restorable, the data is kept while the service is provided and destroyed by deleting the purchase-verification project when the service ends, except where law requires it to be kept for longer.
⑤ How to refuse. The purchase check is needed to unlock cards, so it cannot be switched off separately in the app. If you do not want it, use the app with the internet connection off, or delete the app. All free cards work without an internet connection.
04Stored on your device only
The app stores the following on your device only. It never leaves the device and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. It does not identify any individual.
| Item | What it is | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Checked cards | The identifiers of cards you marked as checked | Until the app is deleted |
| First launch timestamp | The date and time you first opened the app, used to recognize existing users if the service policy changes later. It does not identify an individual | Until the app is deleted |
| Purchase status | Whether the in-app purchase was confirmed the last time the app checked, so purchased cards stay unlocked without an internet connection | Until the app is deleted |
| Analytics on/off setting | Whether you switched off the collection described in section 02 | Until the app is deleted |
Deleting the app removes all of it from your device. We hold no copy, so no deletion request is necessary.
05Processors
We engage the following processors for the analytics described in section 02 and the purchase verification described in section 03. We do not otherwise share or sell your data to third parties.
| Processor | Purpose |
|---|---|
| PostHog, Inc. | Collection, storage and analysis of anonymous usage statistics (posthog.com/privacy) |
| RevenueCat, Inc. | Verifying and restoring in-app purchases (revenuecat.com/privacy) |
06Transfer outside Korea
The statistics described in section 02 and the purchase-verification data described in section 03 are transferred abroad as follows, disclosed under Article 28-8 of the Korean Personal Information Protection Act.
| Recipient | PostHog, Inc. |
| Country | United States |
| When and how | At the moment each event occurs during use, over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection |
| Items transferred | The events listed in section 02 ② and the random on-device identifier (the request's IP reaches the server but is not stored — see section 02 ⑤) |
| Purpose | Analysing usage to improve the content |
| Retention | Until the purpose is fulfilled; destroyed in full by deleting the project when the service ends |
| How to refuse | Switch off "익명 사용 통계" at the bottom of the app's home screen at any time. Refusing places no restriction on your use of the app |
| Recipient | RevenueCat, Inc. |
| Country | United States |
| When and how | At app launch and when you buy or restore, over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection |
| Items transferred | The app user identifier, purchase history and basic device and app information listed in section 03 ② |
| Purpose | Verifying and restoring in-app purchases |
| Retention | While the service is provided; destroyed by deleting the project when the service ends (or longer where law requires) |
| How to refuse | As in section 03 ⑤. Free cards remain fully usable, but purchased cards may not unlock or restore |
07Your rights
Because we hold nothing that identifies you, we have no way to answer an access, correction or deletion request aimed at a particular user. Instead you can act directly and immediately:
- Stop the collection — "익명 사용 통계 · 끄기" at the bottom of the home screen
- Erase what is on your device — delete the app
- Delete your purchase record — email us. We cannot identify you, so please include the order number from the receipt the app store sent you and we will find and delete the record. A deleted purchase may no longer be restorable
For anything else, write to [email protected].
08Children
The app is not directed to children under 14, and collects no identifying information — including age — from anyone.
09About the content
The road traffic and vehicle maintenance information in the app is general reference material, not legal advice or a service manual. Each card cites the statute it relies on and the date the wording was last checked, but laws and notices can be amended. Decisions in real situations, and their consequences, remain your responsibility; for a specific matter, please confirm with the relevant authority or a professional.

12Changes to this policy
① This policy takes effect on 5 October 2026.
② Revision history. The previous policy (effective 5 September 2026) predates the analytics tool and stated that the app collected no personal data at all. It was revised when the anonymous usage analytics in section 02 were introduced. The policy effective 6 September 2026 predates in-app purchases and contained neither section 03 (in-app purchase verification) nor the processing and transfer to RevenueCat, Inc.; it was revised when the in-app purchase "전체 카드 열기" was introduced. All earlier versions applied only before the app was publicly released.
③ If the items we process or the purpose changes, we will revise this policy and give notice in the app and on this page before the change takes effect.
